New Requirements for Battery Powered Equipment and Electronics Imported to India

There are new requirements for Battery Powered Equipment and Consumer Electronics imported to India. These new requirements apply to  inbound shipments of consumer electronics to meet standards imposed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).  The Department of Electronics and Information Technology in India has made the registration of 15 electronic goods mandatory with the Bureau of Indian Standards (“BIS”).  This is like the CE mark for Europe.
