a cargo container ship on the sea

Many discussions have been going on for years about the pros of flexibags over tank containers for transport of liquids. Eco friendliness is the biggest point always been highlighted for use of flexibags instead of tank containers. Is this true?

ITCO has released a clarifying statement “ITCO Flexibag Statement – Tank Containers are Eco-friendly and Sustainable” see below.

Also remember flexibags are not permitted for transport of dangerous goods or marine pollutants.  Do not confuse flexibags with “flexible bulk containers (BK3)”. Flexible bulk containers (BK3) are not permitted in transported in cargo transport units but in the holds of general cargo ships.
