One of the primary requirements of “hazard communication” is to convey the fundamental information relative to hazard of the goods or products.

In IMDG Code hazard communication is through marks, labels, placards & dangerous goods declaration (DGD).

In GHS hazard communication is through GHS label & Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
