ISO Portable Tank — Degree of Filling

Calculates maximum permissible degree of filling for liquid dangerous goods in portable tanks under IMDG Code 42-24 §§4.2.1.9.2, 4.2.1.9.3, and 4.2.1.9.4.

Used to calculate α (§4.2.1.9.4). From SDS or supplier data.
§4.2.1.9.4: actual mean temperature of the liquid at time of filling. Default 15 °C for ambient conditions. tr is fixed at 50 °C per §4.2.1.9.4.1.

If ticked and tank capacity > 7,500 L: fill level between 20% and 80% is not permitted unless shell is divided by partitions or surge plates into sections of ≤ 7,500 L.
⚠ §4.2.1.9.6.1 applies. This tank (capacity > 7,500 L) with a low-viscosity liquid shall not be offered for transport with a degree of filling of more than 20% but less than 80%, unless the shell is divided by partitions or surge plates into sections of not more than 7,500 L capacity.

IBC — Maximum Fill Level

Calculates maximum permissible fill quantity for liquid dangerous goods in Intermediate Bulk Containers per IMDG Code 42-24 §4.1.1.4.

Cargo Density
Reference density at filling temperature
Density at mean bulk transport temperature (50 °C per §4.1.1.4)
§4.1.1.4: enter the actual temperature of the liquid at time of filling. Default 15 °C. Density at t꜀ is interpolated from d₁₅ and d₅₀ to compute the allowable fill volume at that temperature.
