Multimodal Dangerous Goods Form in IMDG Code has a section “Shipping marks” in box 14.

Box 14 is the field where shipper has to fill in mandatory dangerous goods description as required by chapter 5.4 of IMDG Code.

Shipping marks means marks or description which can be used to identify the packages, this can be LOT number, Batch Number, Pallet Number, quantity by weight, consignee details, origin of goods, manufacturing date other identifications etc. Shipping marks are more useful when cargo is sent by LCL consolidation for easy identification.

  1. UN Number
  2. Proper Shipping Name (technical name when required)
  3. Marine Pollutant mark
  4. Limited Quantities mark
