      1. Thanks for replying my query… though i have gone through the CODE but didnot find requirements which states any special condition on the use of symbol with BLACK or WHITE. OR its upto the users / shipper to apply either one of his / her own conveyance….

        1. See IMDG Code
          5.2.2.2.1.6 The symbols, text and numbers shall be shown in black on all labels except for:
          .1 the class 8 label, where the text (if any) and class number shall appear in white;
          .2 labels with entirely green, red or blue backgrounds, where they may be shown in white;
          .3 the class 5.2 label, where the symbol may be shown in white; and
          .4 class 2.1 labels displayed on cylinders and gas cartridges for liquefied petroleum gases, where they may
          be shown in the background colour of the receptacle if adequate contrast is provided.

          Further guidance in IMDG Code 5.2.2.2.2 specimen labels for
          Symbol and symbol colour
          Background
          Figure in bottom corner (and figure colour)

  1. labels are in white and black represents what???? like toxic and corrosive or class9

      1. Well, rephrase it….like you mentioned 5-Color represents ‘nature of hazards’ of any chemical …. so what specific nature White or Black represents to??? As it appears for toxicity, corrosiveness, radioactive & class 9 which has carried mix of hazards…
