A visitor asked what are the differences between IMDG Code and GHS Labels.

To answer this, we need to understand the basics of why labels are required and what purpose they have. Labels are part of hazard communication, to anyone who approach the dangerous goods package or handle such package, giving warning about the nature of hazard and the identification of the goods.

Hazard communication involves visual marks and labels on packages and documents such as dangerous goods declaration and safety data sheet (SDS).
