Latest news reports states DELL E6430u laptops are smelling of cat’s urine. Manufacturers claim it’s due to certain manufacturing process which they are changing and offered replacement for Cat Pee smelling Laptops.

Cat’s urine contains a chemical named 3-mercapto-3-methylbutan-1-ol.  Rats and mice hate this smell but due to certain parasitical changes they get attracted to same and likely get preyed.  Now we know why our cats keep spraying every nook and cranny with its urine.

 Globally Harmonized system of Classification and Labeling (GHS) requires pictograms, hazard statements and Precautionary statements for 3-mercapto-3-methylbutan-1-ol
