Hi fellow maritime professionals and safety enthusiasts,
I would like to express my gratitude to all who have visited this website. Whether you are a long-time subscriber or a new visitor navigating the complexities of dangerous goods regulations, your support is invaluable.
With over 35 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to sharing practical tips on IMDG Code compliance. My aim is to simplify these stringent regulations to prevent accidents, fines and environmental issues.
Recently, we have addressed significant topics such as the new safety measures for charcoal in IMDG Code 42-24 and inspection checklists for dangerous goods. However, the IMDG Code is a comprehensive document covering a wide range of topics including general provisions (Part 1), classification of hazards (Part 2), the Dangerous Goods List (Part 3), use of packing and tank rules (Part 4), consignment procedures (Part 5), package construction and testing (Part 6) and transport operations (Part 7). It also addresses marine pollutants, limited/excepted quantities and security provisions.
To ensure the content is relevant to your needs, I would appreciate your input on which IMDG Code topics you would like me to cover next. Please provide specific suggestions such as “Explain stowage for Class 4.3 substances” or “how to identify whether a substance or article is dangerous goods?” Or “which cargoes are prohibited to be loaded under deck?”
Your feedback will help me create content that is tailored to the challenges faced in real-world shipping.
